Robert Stewart
General Manager

Robert Stewart was named General Manager of Ladera in June 2005. Mr. Stewart comes to Ladera with over two decades of experience in Caribbean hospitality, including extensive knowledge of St. Lucia and the area surrounding the property.   He was General Manager of Anse Chastenet for nearly four years before taking the position at Ladera and opened the Jalousie Plantation, also in Soufrière, in 1991 and remained there as General Manager until 1993. 

Mr. Stewart began his career in 1983 after earning a hotel management degree from the British Columbia Institute of Technology in Vancouver, Canada.  Since then, he has held a number of hotel management positions throughout the Caribbean.  In 1993 he ran his own hospitality consultancy firm, which provided expertise in hospitality management to hotels and resorts.

Ladera is located in the Windward Islands of the Caribbean. It is uniquely situated at 1,100 feet above the sea, near the port town of Soufrière.  Guestrooms were intentionally built without a fourth wall, yet were designed to be both sheltered, safe, and completely private, while providing spectacular views of the volcanic Piton Mountains.  The resort is known for its distinctive eco-lodge architecture, featuring six villas and 19 suites. Interiors are furnished with polished woods, while the open wall leads to a private plunge pool and lush tropical landscaping.
